About Sidney Selvig

Experience

I am a licensed social worker, with my master’s degree in clinical social work and a graduate certificate in the Specialty Program in Alcohol and Drug Abuse (SPADA) both from Western Michigan University. 

Before joining Evolve, I worked for 5 years in a community mental health that specialized in severe mental health and substance abuse treatment. 
My primary focus is working with adults, teens, couples, families, and veterans that struggle with, but not limited to, traumatic and stressful experiences, addiction, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship/family issues. 

It is my experience that clients know themselves better than anyone else and that there is no single approach that is right for every one individual. That is why I see therapy as a joint venture where our knowledge and skills are combined to create solutions and positive outcomes. I believe that the best therapeutic relationships include trust, respect, authenticity, and shared decision-making.
